“This is our family at Eid wearing batik sarongs (ladies) and batik shirts (men). Batik is a traditional form of fabric print and in my Malay culture, both men and women wear it. These originate from Indonesia, but batik is printed all over South-East Asia. At Eid, we celebrate by wearing new (traditional) clothes, eating traditional food and drink. Eid is a special time for our family, and we enjoy telling our friends about the clothes and different types of food.”
