“I created a Kimono inspired by my mother’s kimono. The Kimono is Japanese traditional garment which is passed down through generations. The Kimono industry has shrunk these days although they were made with exquisite Japanese craftsmanship. On my Kimono, a big flower blooms in front, the flowers then get smaller, petals drop and pile up on the edge and then the flowers bloom again. This conveys my wish that the tradition will continue from generation to generation, just as my mother’s kimono was passed down to me.”
