“This is a photograph of my mum and dad about to go out and celebrate their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. They are standing in their ‘backyard’ in Blackpool Lancashire. I think I took the photograph in the early eighties. Looking at my mum’s dress, I think it’s a lovely example of how traditional fabric from another part of the world is accepted and incorporated into high street clothing.”
